I remember the day I met her…
She stood beside my friend.
Listened to my words,
Laughed at my comments,
Moved by my thoughts,
Exaggerated at my feelings…
I wanted to see her face and so
I played some trick on the race…
At last, She said by her first sight – that I should come back!
I was there after some days,
The other friend was missing.
Nowhere to hide her face then,
She started looking at me, her first boy Friend!
There was a gentle smile…
But soon she dropped her head
With a little blush!
Days passed by…
Talks,
Smiles,
Laughs…
Hours went together…
We forgot food, forgot sleep,
Talked till our jaws pained…
Sat together,
Ate together,
Worked and played together…
No study… no worry…
Enjoyed the time in merry.
I remember the days in the kitchen
Where I sat beside the stove,
With a plate in hand,
Where my lips watered for her crispy dosa and chutney…
Together, at the computer
Where we fought to win some race…
Together, at the stairs
Where I plaited her hair…
From gift shops to bakers,
Net parks to theme parks,
We roamed around…
They all say our names and
Remind our friendship flames…
Years passed…
The day arrived…
She did let me know
That her father came with grooms to decide…
With an year left to go,
I started missing her.
No more sitting together…
No more playing together…
No more timeless talks…
No more night-time walks…
Confused, depressed and sad
I was forced to plan the rest…
All that I understood was…
I will not live that life again!
That life with lots of fun,
Joy and sorrow multiplexed,
Tiny fights and casual clashes,
Pulling legs and worthless chats...
Days became months…
Months slipped to a year…
Finally the day arrived!
I was with my family at the hall.
Her wedding was in progress.
She, beside her husband, with the wedding ring…
I, with my present…
‘Good luck’ was my word, in fact…
I didn’t know why I came home with heavy heart!
Now… rarely we speak and
I wait for chances to meet,
Me, busy at work,
She busy with her family,
All that remains afresh is
Our friendship, with fragrance!
Two became three
And there was my chance to visit her…
Again with a present :)
Just to say good luck!
Have much to share,
Have much to cry…
But not again, the way I did…
And so they remain at heart, forever!
Whatever that happened was good, indeed,
Whatever should happen, will happen on need!
Waiting for the day
For just an hour, to say,
To share all that I didn’t
And to add to the end,
That I MISS HER!
~ A lonely heart.
